Hello, total newbie here, so apologies if my question is as obvious as the nose on my face.
Just wanted to confirm - I'm wanting to organize a series of videos, so that I don't have a really, really long page with video after video. Instead of putting photos in Gallery, am I correct that I can put videos in as well? That way someone can scan through the series of video thumbnails, click on a thumbnail and voila, watch the video. Gallery will do this, yes?
If so, since I'm brand spanking new, is there a reason to use version 2 over version 3 or vice versa?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

Both versions support video, G3 only supports flash video and mp4
G2 has support for many more formats.

Hi,
total newbie here too .. I would like to know if the script allows to just paste embbed code to make the videos appear .. I don't want to upload, juste paste my code ( youtube/dailymotion/vimeo per example) and the video is there ... is this possible with Gallery ? if yes, does it create the thumbnail or will I have to create/import it ?
thx for the reply !

Thx...I did actually look in the Gallery3 modules, but i'm not perfectly bilingual and didn't knew what et where to look to get that module.. I'm not very good in php either, so the forum did seem the simplistic way to get the info ... thank you for taking the time to reply by the way, really appreciated !

Marc, I am in the exact same situation as your with the language thing.
The easiest for me was to come to understand how to install the module
link. This was much help and hope it is for youd. It is here what I found
the place to begin to learned.
"If a module is listed as being available in the gallery3-contrib git repository, you can download it from gallerymodules.com, instead of downloading the entire repository from git. If you don't see the module you want listed gallerymodules.com, send a note to the module author to get it uploaded to the repository.
Detailed module installation directions: Gallery3:User_guide:Modules:Installing_and_upgrading#How_to_install_a_module
I hope this help
