Gallery requires short_open_tag to be on.

Hey. :)

I'm just installing Gallery3 on my Debian Linux Server with Lighttpd. // lighttpd/1.4.28
PHP-Version: 5.3.10-1~dotdeb.1

After the install I got "Gallery requires short_open_tag to be on."
Then I edited my php.ini to:

short_open_tag=On
; Default Value: On
; Development Value: Off
; Production Value: Off

And then I restarted lighttpd.
But it's still the same error. :(

Has anybody any idea?

lighttpd is not a officially supported web-server.
Are you editing the right ini file?
