okay guys, its hard for me to sort throught this thread, its sort of a mess of useful information, just none that i can understand or relate to. i heard a couple things that sound good and a couple that sound bad.
i'd like to have users from my phpbb2 2.0.11 be able to login to the gallery, version 1.4.4-pl2. i want them to be able to create their own albums, inside a "member album" which would reside in the root folder.
ex. root -my album with my pictures
-my album with car show pictures (the theme of the website)
-MEMBERS ALBUM
|
-userid=1259's album
-userid=5563's album
now i do not have a freshly installed forum. and i have installed a new forum since the original installion of gallery. is there a simple how to on this somewhere? is there a simple process on doing this even. i'm minorly proficient with coding, but nothing that requires hacks, work arounds, or anything not readily documented. i've seen the howto.txt in the contrib folder, but it was not overly helpful.

after the integration, you can only view the gallery from the forum? that doesn't exactly make sense, but is that true?
if i missed a generic easy to read install on the process, i truly apologize. i tried reading through this thread, and tried the search button. any help? also, if 2.0.11 won't integrate with 1.4.4-pl2, is there a way to upgrade the gallery software without losing my albums and skin?

dansellbuddy, first, you should really start a new thread.. not post to one that's two years old.
Second - Create the album, and set the permissions on that album to "LOGGEDIN" for Create Album. That will allow anyone with an account in phpBB to create sub-albums of that album.

well, im going to check that out. i appreciate the quick response. and i just saw this as the sticky, and figured you guys wanted all phpbb2 topics in here.

Hi!
I want to log in in my gallery with my forum's (phpbb2) user accounts
but i don't want gallery to be a module of phpbb.
so users log in once and are authorised for the 2 applications
someone who can help me or knows a good tutorial?
