Has anyone attempted to embed Gallery into Drupal?

Seeing as it's the 4th most popular CMS according to the polls, I was hoping to find a contribution from someone.

I like Gallery's integration with Mambo, but Mambo seems too klunky for my tastes.

I'm using Drupal and Menalto Gallery. After years with Postnuke and Gallery, I've found that Drupal's CMS functions are better, easier to use, and get more results with less effort.

The Image module of Drupal is not as good as Gallery though, and if your used to Gallery, I wouldnt bother with Drupals image module.

The problem is of course that Drupal's user permission system is not integrated into Gallery. So what to do? I've decided I don't need integrated permissions, and have installed both systems side by side.

Its working for me ... see http://www.marbleart.com.au

More could be done, I'd like to better merge the gallery into the CMS.

Drupal offers a module for G2. you can find it @ http://drupal.org/files/projects/gallery-4.6.0.tar.gz.

you will need to install the above, and the gallery2 from this site.

note that they only support Beta 3 right now, and not the CVS.
