Hi there,

I got a 4.5.1 Mambo with the latest gallery here and I'm just facing a problem with the comments:

When a user (not logged in) clicks on the "comment"-Button, a pop-up pops up (SCNR) with only a text-area for the comment itsself, but not with an area for the name of the author.

As gallery checks then if a name is given and breaks if not, visitors can't leave comments at all now.

If I browse to the gallery-URL directly, all works fine.

Does anyone know help?

You can find the albo within mambo here: http://wolfram.lausch.net/index.php?option=com_gallery&Itemid=40

and without mambo here:

Thanks,
southy

Mambo 4.5.1 and Gallery 1.4.4pl4 are incompatible. Gallery 1.5-cvs (currently under development) is though.

Hey, thanks very much.
Just updated to the latest version - comments and everything else seem to work just fine.

Great work - thanks for your help.

Where can I find 1.5cvs? It's not on the sourceforge page...

Here is the notice I get but the gallery still works fine..

Notice: A session had already been started - ignoring session_start() in /www/r/rcrcadmin/htdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php on line 1182

Ok, here's what I've done and it works perfectly:

1. Install both Gallery (1.5, get it from http://galleryupdates.jpmullan.com/ ) and Mambo (4.5.1a get it from http://mamboforge.net/frs/?group_id=5) and make sure they work on their own.

2. Grab the contrib/mambo folder (in your gallery directory), grab the xml file (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/gallery/gallery/contrib/mambo/gallery.xml?rev=1.3) and replace the xml file in the contrib/mambo folder (for this file, when you follow the link, DON'T copy and paste, do a file>save as. Not sure why but the first didn't work for me while the second did.)

3. Zip up the mambo folder

4. Log into Mambo Admin, do a components>install

5. go into Components>Gallery and put in your absolute path (if you don't know it, look in Site>Global Configuration, it's listed there) to gallery

6. Create a menu item, select component, Gallery

7. Go to your mambo page (ie not admin) and log in

8. Click on your gallery link and you should see all the admin functions
