Unable to quit GR and cannot edit remote.properties

I've installed v1.0 on RedHat 8.0 both as root (in /usr/local/Gallery_Remote) and locally as a normal user in the user home directory. I've tried the version with the VM and the version without. I've tried JRE v1.3.1 and v1.4.1.

The program always starts fine. However, I cannot quit. I select quit and it just sits there. Nothing. I have to kill the processes. The .Gallery_Remote directory is created, but it is empty. I assume remote.properties gets created when teh program exits.

My problem is I want to use ImageMagick to do local image manipulation before uploading. The README says to change a few properites in remote.properties. But it never gets created for me to edit.

Am I missing something obvious here? :???:

Just replying to keep this post active.

I'm using Windows ME (I know, I know), and Remote 1.0 won't close correctly. Remote 1.0 preview version from a month or two ago worked just fine, but the release version won't die.

I've tried using JRE1.3.1 and JRE1.4 - same result. I've done multiple clean installs, and there seems to be no difference no matter what I do.

At least it's not just me. :???:

I also had the same problem on a NT4 machine that had JRE 1.3.1 installed. I downloaded and installed the version that came with the JRE and I couldn't quit the program without killing it. I uninstalled JRE 1.3, rebooted and now it works like a champ!

This is a known bug in 1.0. It is fix in 1.0.1 betas. Sorry about that.
