unable to use ffmpeg - now what?

hi!

i've recently setup G2, and i absolutely love it. everything's working really well, except for the fact that i am unable to use ffmpeg, and would LOVE to use G2 to post movies.

brinkster is hosting my site (not a free account - the professional paid account), and i obviously do not have permissions to cmd.exe to call ffmpeg.exe.

is there something i can do about this? is there a way to manually add thumbnails for movies in G2? is there another way to still use ffmpeg?

any comments and suggestions are appreciated!

1) you can use thumbnail module and assign a thumbnail image to use for all movies
2) you can use thumbnail module and upload a jpeg thumbnail for any item in the General tab

i understand how to do option 1 above, but do not understand option 2. you're implying that i can choose separate thumbnails for each movie? what are the steps to accomplish this - if i "edit movie" ... there's nothing about thumbnails in the general tab (as you mention above).

note, i only use gd.

You neglected to mention what version of G2 you're using, so my guess is that you're using A4 which doesn't have feature #2. Try upgrading to the latest nightly snapshot and you'll have a new option at the bottom of the General tab that you can play with.
