Hi,

Just finnished installing Gallery on a very tiny server.

The webserver is a Linksys NSLU2(a littlebit bigger as a pack of cigarets, running Apache/PHP from a 1 Gb USB Stick. (but can be run on a USB HDD also)

The whole server takes about 13 watt. and the whole system cost me arround 120 Euro.

I am still in the phase of testing, but Click here to test it
I made a description how to install all this on the NLSU2 and it can be found
here

So this is not so much about a "come and see my Gallery" but more, look how crazy I am, I have installed Linux on my fridge kind of thing.

You mean that Apache and PHP are running on that thing, or that it's just storing files...???

Apache and PHP are running on it, and it also stores the files.
And it runs better (much better) then expected.
The only drawback is that you MUST use Gallery Remote to upload your pictures, the processor is not strong enough to resize the photo's or it will be unavailable for 5 minutes every time you upload a file.

Philos31, hope you don't mind the small amount of traffic this will give you, but I did a little something with your post: http://h0bbel.p0ggel.org/item/great-stuff-in-tiny-packages/

:-)

No, I don't mind.
Just want to say that I was NOT the first running Gallery on this "thing"
But there was no description at first, there where no pre-compiled packages for Apache/PHP so only a Guru could install it.
Now thanks to the great work of a bunch of developpers Apache and PHP are compiled for this machine and easy instalable.
I just figured out how to put all packages together (also with great help of the comunity) and write a howto.

So credits go to a lot of people, I'm just a small part.

But it is realy FUN, running it ion this very very small machine, and I wanted to let you guys know about it.
