G2 documentation efforts?

I was just wondering what's happening on the documentation front for G2? There are developer docs and there's obviously some info in the forums, but it doesn't look like there's any kind of centralized effort happening. I just installed G2 and have been having all sorts of issues and questions that I'm sure are common. I'd be happy to spit out some docs if there was a good place to do it. It doesn't look like the Gallery home page is really set up yet to provide support for G1 *and* G2. Everything's sort of mixed together. Perhaps we can reorganize the Wiki a bit to make room for some ad-hoc docs? It would be nice to modify the sidebar a bit to separate G1 and G2. Since G2 is beta, you could stick it down at the bottom of the sidebar or something. Any thoughts? |

The short answer is that no documentation is happening. We're mostly just focused on building the product right now.
I don't particularly want to separate the website into G1 and G2, since they are really just two parts (out of many) that form the entire project. But I agree that we will eventually need to make it clear which things apply to G1 and to G2, so at some point in the future (like, right after 2.0 ships) we'll probably move all the G1 stuff off to the side and make everything G2 related.
We'd love it if you'd like to contribute some docs. I've seen you in IRC .. grab me there sometime and let's talk about it.
