Cannot see picstures in Gallery at all

I installed this yesterday, embedded it into my php site and cannot see any pics in gallery. I read and reread everything on the installation. I made a directory in the root called g2data ..I dropped the gallery2 folder into the modules folder,went thru the installations process after activating the module. Even logged out of admin ... once I had it installed I went thru the embedding procedures.Everything looks like it should except when uploading pictures ...I tried uploading pics and it says it uploaded but see no thumbnail or actual picture in the gallery ..almost like it doesnt know exactly where to look.

Anyway if you can see a problem I would greatly appreciate the help.

1. step: get G2 working in standalone, without any embed stuff
did you get it working in standalone?

2. get it working as embedded G2
did you define the correct embedPath, embedUri and relativeG2Url? see the examples in docs/EMBEDDING

after looking at your site:

a, it's phpnuke / g2. did you use the official integration code?
see the link in my signature. there a site called nukedgallery which could help you.

Gallery2 Embeding Settings

Gallery2 Full filepath: /root/retribut/public_html/modules/gallery2
Embed URI:http://retributionhascome.com/modules.php?name=gallery2
Relative G2 path:/root/retribut/public_html/modules/gallery2;
I also used the root/g2data (like the installation of gallery2 said)
Neither one worked. when i click on a picture i get this
http://retributionhascome.com/public_html/modules/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core:DownloadItem&g2_itemId=120&g2_serialNumber=1
which shows a 404 page

I used the one from the section embedding and intergration off this forum.

first get g2 standalone to work.

and your Gallery2 Embedding Settings are completly wrong.

Well what would be the best settings ...I would like some insight because I have been struggling with this for 2 days ...i installed per the instructions here but some of the instructions are not clear.

Would be nice to see a step by step like the do' and dont check list or maybe a configuration like the 2.04 alpha version ...it work fine with my php ..I just decided to clear it all out and start over..
