'Edit' option bottom left corner of G2

After upgrading to CVS 07/20/2005 I see an 'Edit' option at the bottom left corner of the gallery, when not logged in the gallery (guest) clicking on the Edit I get the following error (see pic) hence I don't think the Edit option should be visible to guest.
I have to confess I am not familiar with G2 maybe there is an option to remove / disable the Edit option, I looked couldn't find it.
