Joomla & Gallery2

I've installed Gallery2 on my server, and the application seems to run fine. In addition, I've installed Joomla which also works quite well. However, I can't install Gallery2 into Joomla as a component. I attempted installation by going to INSTALLERS >> Components >> Install from Directory. When I try to embed Gal2 into Joomla I get either an "Error 500" page, or I get a vanilla error message that says "Installation file not found". I don't know what installer file it is looking for.

I have tried entering the server directory path, and I have also tried using the full web URL and directory path to identify Gal2 as a component, and neither one successfully embeds Gal2 as a component.

Any ideas?

I haven't tried yet (not sure if ready for primetime yet; I still run G 1.5 w mambo), but there's a joomla and Gallery 2 bridge; info via http://dev.4theweb.nl/home/
Maybe this will do the trick for you.

I need Gallery2 Bridge too but the link seems to be dead. Is there anywhere else that it can me downloaded?
