Good Day;

While performing the upgrade from G2 2.0 to 2.0.1 I get the following error In step 5.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/michae3/public_html/gallery2/upgrade/templates/UpgradeOtherModulesRequest.html on line 25

Any suggestions as to what is causing this. Thanks.

i guess you ignored a file integrity warning:
FAQ: How can I make sure that my installation files are all intact?

No. The was no warning to ignore (I just ran the upgrader again). Gallery file integrity received a green "success" confirmation. Other ideas?

that's quite impossible, unless the integrity check itself is damanged (missing MANIFEST files, ..).
i'd start by reuploading the upgrade/ folder to your webserver and then try again.

Well... I re-downloaded, re-uploaded, re-extracted and re-ran the upgrader with the same results.

Then out of curiosity, I upgraded the theme files for siriux and re-ran the upgrader. The new theme files are kicking out on the integrity check.

I guess I do not understand the relationship between the upgrade integrity check and any files that my need to be customized and updated (themes, modules and occasional personalization).

What is the proper approach to maintaining theme, module and other modified files without causing problems for G2 upgrades?

I want to adopt the strategy that makes the most sense.

Thanks.

well, most user contributed themes / modules don't ship with a (valid) MANIFEST files and thus, they are under the radar for file integrity checks.
if any MANIFEST file is not up to date or missing, then the file integrity check for the specific module / theme is unusable.
