Hi,
I am going mad with this Mambo problem...
I moved 2 galleries installation from a Debian box running PHP 4.3.10 to a Centos one with 4.4.1 and now I am getting the following error every time I am trying to remove or modify a gallery:
Gallery seems to be inside Mambo, but we couldn't get the necessary info
Outside the Mambo directory gallery is working fine.
I read all the posts on this forum and double checked all my url's and everything appears to be ok but problem still remains.
Be aware that I move the galleries from a server were both have been working fine so no need to modify anything apart from the paths which I double checked.
Anyone with a suggestion?
Thanks a lot
Gallery version: 1.5.1
PHP version: 4.4.1 (tested on 4.3.11 as well with same results)
Webserver: Apache 1.3.34

Would this be the same problem?

Your post isn't clear - When does the error occur?

It happens everytime, in every signle admin operation (add, delete, modify etc). The url is not applied in my case as I also changed the user authentication levels and still the same.
Thanks

Late Reply. But check to see if / is at the end under configurations.

Wait, I just notice itis the same error that I get.
When I click on any of the options:
[delete album] [move album] [reorder album] [rename album] [edit captions] [permissions] [properties]
<Empty> [edit description]

Asmar,
I am getting the same error.
init.php: Gallery seems to be inside Mambo, but we couldn't get the necessary info.
I have MamboV4.5.3h and gallery-1.5.2. I have the paths matching in the gallery config and mambo i.e. http://www.mysite.com/gallery1 is not different from mambo calling the gallery at http://mysite.com/gallery. I have seen that as a solution. I cannot edit, rename or anyhing that pops up a window. Firefox or IE browser have the same results. My install is pretty straightforward, and I've done it a few times. I even checked the permissions and matched my Mambo admin login and password to gallery's.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

wildseed, I am afraid I wont be able to help.
I removed Mambo completely and now developing my own simple CMS.
The problems with Mambo was a nightmare, too buggy software if you are using it in a 'serious' web site.
On the other hand, Gallery is also very easy to break even with simple PHP upgrades. Don't get me wrong, both are great piece of software but for specific people and definitely not for large commercial projects.
Cheers

I have five sites that are affected by this now where users can't do anything with their pictures
