Hi All,
I am playing with an idea and just wanted to post for some feedback and advice. I currently have a multisite installation up and running on my server. I have good intentions of settings up galleries for friends and contacts of mine, just as a nice gesture. To further customize the experience I plan to use sub domains to direct them to their personal gallery, ex. my main domain is "www.example.net"; my brother would use "john.example.net". Would I want to use the same database for all and just create separate table identifiers, or should I give them all the own database? What are the pros/ cons to this from a management end as far as maintaining users? All input, suggestions, ideas are welcomed.
Thanks,
Robbie

I have multisites up and running. I used the same database with different table prefixes before I realized that my host would allow me to create more databases. I don't see any performance problems. My main gallery has ~4000 images. The subs are all much smaller.
The thing that is complicated is that every time I upgrade the software, I have to go through and upgrade each one individually. I'm not complaining, as this is much better than running 4 different G1 installs!
The other thing that can get confusing is that each multisite runs its own subset of modules and themes.
Overall, a great program with a ton of flexibility.
