Hello All,
since 2.1-soon - and activated Rating Blocks onmy Gallery - I find quite some traffic/visitors rating images on my gallery. As there is no tool to find the ratings, I've checked the SQL-tables and find (within three days) about 200 visitors like
google662497248 66.249.72.48:af26a291b02611b619f29585bbb19ac9
rating specific items.
Any idea where these visitors are coming from? I was trying Google image search and found a few of my images listed there, but couldn't reproduce the refering - or the direct ability to rate.
Any light on this would be appreciated
CU
Lutz

is google662497248 the sessinId ? if so, it's google itself, crawling your site.

Yes, the sessionId - hmm - wouldn't have expected a bot rating my items ;)

you can file a feature request to prevent letting search engines rate your items.

I'm on it

I'm just committed a check so that the rating module uses GalleryUtilities::identifySearchEngine(), so that if the HTTP_USER_AGENT is a known web crawler, the rating won't be processed.
Update when you can and let me know how it works for you.
PS: if you want to know which crawlers that function checks for, the source file is viewable at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/gallery/gallery2/modules/core/classes/GalleryUtilities.class?only_with_tag=HEAD&view=markup.

I've updated this morning - CVS mentioned the update of the rating module. Will check and feedback asap.
(Should be easy to see - got 600 ratings yesterday night via google...)

Rizzo, btw ...
... I sometimes notice that the stars arn't displayed on certain albums after reloading of the page - only the blue bar.
Any idea why this happens?
Thanks,
Lutz
