Our client saved her albums (presumably from Gallery 1. something) then upgraded to G2

At my request she uploaded the albums folder to a specified folder at the same level as public_html

I found she had put G2 into the public_html folder together with an empty album called "gallery". OK she was "being helpful!"

With no joy in getting the images to show in the new gallery, even after removing the existing gallery and installing a new copy of G2.0.2 in the public_html/gallery folder, and using the "From local server" method to install the albums, I am guessing the images are still in G1 format.

Should I install a G1.5.1 and edit its config.php to point to the Albums folder, then upgrade that gallery to G2.0.2?

Thanks in advance
Gaynor

Just use the Gallery 1 import module to import her albums from her g1 albums directory into G2.

I have been trying this all day and it still doesn't show the photos.

In the process I completely removed the gallery and reinstalled it

It said they were successfully imported.
No error messages, just those torn image icons for every single image.

Oh she has now told me her previous gallery was g1.4.12

Thanks Chris (I think that's yout name)

This does seem to be the answer. When I uploaded some very small gifs, the thumbnails were generated.
ImageMagic is not installed on this gallery, but I have never had the problems where it is active.
I now just have to wait for our techy to get to work on Monday and tell me the path (that the installation requires) to that on the server.

As usual it turns out that the FAQ has the information if only I know what to ask it for.

Blessings,
Gaynor
