2 applications, 1 database?

I have Gallery2 installed.
Now I need to install Drupal.

Do I need 2 databases in this situation? (1 for Gallery an 1 for Drupal?)
Or is it possible to share 1 database?

you can share one database since you use a different database table prefix for g2 tables (g2_).
