I just got my first Gallery up and running and am probably more proud of it than it deserves. One thing I thought would be great but couldn't find here is an area for users to announce the successful creation of their own Gallery and invite others to take a look. So, I'll lead the parade.

I'd love it if others would post a simple link to their own Gallery here!
And now, I'm off to work on my second Gallery - the NSFW one that illustrates why I use this user name.

I think I like Gallery a bit to much.
I just finished recoding this one with a CSS layer for all the graphics & text.

Thought I'd add my gallery here. It's heavily customized - not in appearance, but functionality. It's also members only, but now we've added thumbnails when you are not logged in, at least there's something to see.
Despite it's name, it is an international group of photographers sharing their work and critiquing others. If you are at all tempted, please sign up, and then you can have a look around the rest of the site.

Hey! Nice thread idea! And nice work everyone implementing your galleries!
I thought I'd share my work as well. But first a little history. Back in '97 I wrote some Perl scripts with a friend that would use a Perl jpg lib in order to manipulate graphics. It worked well, but every time you loaded an album, the script would load the cpu down converting the directories images into thumbnails. Not really a problem as at the time I didn't generate that much traffic, i think the more annoying part was having to duplicate the CGI script for every album I added. This also presented a problem for moving the site as I updated servers etc..
Over the past several years I had looked for better coding for gallery purposes and then got caught up in my job. Only recently I discovered postnuke, and gallery, and the benefits of PHP and MySQL. I have to say that gallery is a wonderful gift, it is everyithing that I was looking for.
I now have my massive digital camera pic library online, my personal artist portfolio, a documentary on how to create neon signs, and have been making progress scanning in all the photos I've ever taken that exist in my house. The gallery on my website exists for both personal and public use. I have almost 7,000 images already, and should approach 10,000 by next month
Another thing that I looked for that would've made my life easier was a scanner that would automatically scan a stack of photos; document feeders on scanners don't work for photos. Alas, I didn't find one. So I've began the tedious task of scanning manually. (and then a friend comes a long and tells me that he's found one in the $300 price range.. ) so for those of you interested its the HP Scanjet 5500C..
Ok.. enough jabber.. come check out my work at <!-- BBCode Start --><A HREF="http://www.dsom.com" TARGET="_blank">Dark Side of the Moon</A><!-- BBCode End -->. Just click on the Photo Album link to see my gallery  You are welcome to come join the discussions or check out my MIDI work as well.

The albums are on the left under Screensavers (I try not to use the main gallery page, until I find a good skin I like).
You can see some of my custom airbrushing and some digital edits in the Custom album.

Greetings,
I've been playing around with gallery awhile. Finally added a few modifications. Still have a few more things I would like to get done but could use some constructive criticism/feedback on the current state.

Hey. Ray.
It looks nice but . . . . you've got way too much junk on the page. I've got a 1024x768 monitor, so I've got all this white space, plus the big banner area and then the photos jammed down in one corner, and nearly off the screen.
Suggest you use the group photo on the main page only (html_wrap/gallery.header) and have much less surrounds on the album/photo pages.

Here's mine:
Southern California SV650
(sample album and a test album where anyone can upload)
Partly inspired by the G2 mock-ups. Main page includes a random photo, recent comments, and latest albums hack. All integrated with VBulletin (vbportal/phpnuke). Comments/suggestions - greatly appreciated.

Time to revive this thread!
My second Gallery has been up for some time but I only recently got it in 'finished' condition.
http://www.oldweakandpathetic.com <-- Note this site is NOT safe for work. As my nick here might suggest, it features mostly painted people so if that's not your cup of tea, feel free to skip it.
I'm kind of torn over using frames on the site but it's the only way I could find that preserves the URL of the stacked domain on the virtual server.
My original Gallery is still at http://www.techquarium.com/gallery and grows by leaps and bounds. Over 2000 pictures and more to come. The bodypainting Gallery will grow by a LOT in 4 weeks as we're once again making the journey to Fantasy Fest this year.
Anyway, post your Galleries here. I love seeing what other people have done with this software.

I still have tons and tons of text to add under all of the images, but Here's mine.
I have sooooooooo many images, and add to it several times a week. I can't say enough about how easy Gallery has made my life! :D
And I'm sure I'll have a ball looking at all of the sites listed here...I love this stuff!

Too bad the best looking and most heavily modified Gallery I installed is entirely members-only (for European IEM students only).
But my personal Gallery is a nice alternative, with over 1000 photos of my travels.

My Gallery is mostly just stuff from trips, parties, parades, and the like.
Only slightly customized, although I have a few more radical changes to make in the near future.

A big thanks to all the Gallery folks and all who post on this site, especially those who have tutorial sites! I blundered my way to creating my Gallery at:
www.featherphotography.com
It's a work in progress. I don't think I've done anything that hasn't already been discussed in this forum or in the tutorials, but am happy to answer any questions I can.

The most recent gallery I did is located at
www.btandf.com/inventory
I would link to my personal gallery, but I got bored with it so I turned it back to the gallery defaults. It gives me incentive to start fresh the most recent version and then to modify as I see fit.

General photos of around our place(vancouver, WA), mostly outdoors stuff, categorized by the month. Most pics are from a fuji finepix 1.3mp up til the end of november 03. After that they are with a canon powershot a70 3.2mp. Learning how to customize the look of it.. all the code looks like greek to me, not into programming at all, but im getting it there heh.
running it from my house so speed can vary, but it'll do for now.

lol, you must think this guy is stupid, but i wanted it that way:
probably you know "The Famous Fat Boy" (story of the boy: http://www.revscene.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=167092 , registration required), not the "Star Wars Kid", just another little www celebrity born in the last few days...
however, i wanted to take the opportunity and built an album for this little celeb on my website: www.nei.ch/gallery/famousfatboy
normally the traffic was around 10-30mb / day, now it's 1-10GB / day  . i wonder when my host will deactivate my account...
i thought all the new links to my site would improve my google page rank. perhaps it takes a while, but google didn't change the page rank and didn't even index the pages in the last 5 days.
ps: what's the whole thing about? someone started doing some fake images of the boy and dozens of other people were inspired...
