Hello,
searching around the forum I did not see a similar problem, so I would like to see if anybody else has run into this problem..
I am upgrading a gallery install from version 2.04 to the latest 2.1. *Before* installing, I removed the modules directory so there should not be any conflicts with the previous rev.. at step 2 there is only one warning about "Output buffering disabled", everything else is 'Success'.
Continuing on to step 3 will produce the following:
Quote:
Upgrading the Gallery Core Module
The Gallery Core Module is the heart of the Gallery application. You can upgrade most other modules using the Site Administration interface, but this module must be handled separately in order for the upgrade to go smoothly.
Currently installed 1.0.0.2
New version 1.1.0
Config.php upgrade Required
[.....]
* Module updates is missing
Im not sure where the old core module would be found since I removed the modules directory.
Is there a module called 'updates' that is not loaded?
Any suggestions on what I could try to clear the error?
thanks for any help..
David

please paste the WHOLE page!
there should be some modules which are not updated (e.g. they were not in the new 2.1 package what you have downloaded)
And simply removing the module directory wasn't such a great idea, as you don't really see now what you had in that.
It can easily happen too, that you have additional modules in the old list, what you don't have now.
(plase paste the full page, but in advance: you might need to put in the new version of the modules, or to manually deactiave them in the database)

Joe, thanks for the responce..
here is the complete text of the page:
and thats it.
I had only added one other module before, but didnt think of 2.1 not including an updated module that was in a previous version.
I did try the install before deleteing the modules directory with the *exact same result*, so figuring that the 'core module' was the issue, I deleted the module directory, reinstalled from the .tar and re-ran the setup to the same message.
thanks for taking a look!

hah!
almost made a fool of me too.
it's gonna be the "updates" module!
go for the 2.1version here: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/37966?from=100#comment-163039
and put it in the modules dir
it should solve it

cool! that did it! it figures that the one addon that I had was the problem.
I appreciate your time looking at mine (and many others) issues.. it really helps and makes for a much better 'gallery experience'
thanks again..
