Hi everyone.
I've been puzzled for some time now about few things.
First i must briefly explain how i use gallery2 and mention that
i know nothing about php scripting.
It's used as image repository for different people & groups.
They upload their pictures to albums made for them.
Fine. That shouldn't be any problem, right?
The first problem is the interface. There's a shitload
of nice features and things you can do for your album
and pics. But what i'm askin for is that
I'd like to have simple galleries with easy option
to upload new pictures and post comments on them.
From everybody involved without prior knowledge
of gallery2 interface and how it works.
ie: I have a mid sized picture in front of me,
i have an textarea just below the picture
where i can post a short comment and my name.
(since logging in won't be required for commenting)
Right after posting my comment, it shows
up in a comment area between the picture and
the textbox in one row, both the name and the
comment right next to it,
maybe like irc style "name> Comment" or something like that.
(To my knowledge, gallery1 contains such a commenting method,
i could be wrong though. But i'd hate to downgrade back to
gallery 1, if it even is possible.)
Ok, how could this be achieved? Since i don't know shit about php,
i don't really have much options but to ask from you guys.
I know that i can add and remove certain features
like camera information and so on, but i haven't figured
out yet how to customize the commenting
part of the interface, to make it much simpler
and less space consuming.
In this case, the only usable theme is the siriux, since
all others are too complex and messy. But siriux
in otherhand is too simple, i haven't figured
out yet how to use comments with it.
And yes, in my spare time i've read a big bunch of
gallery 2 faqs and manuals etc etc, but guess
i'm the only one who needs a usable commenting system.
Well, here's my problem. Hope it did make sense.
You can tell that gallery2 interface is designed by an engineer.
It could be so much simpler for a common user, not just for admins.
