I believe rPath can build a "raw" image, but I don't know if it will work. Does VMware offer an OS X player? |

No VMWare doesn't currently offer one, but they have announced that they plan on having one soon. According to the press release. The beta release of this product is expected to be available later this year. Interested parties will be able to sign up for early access by visiting www.vmware.com/mac . |

I don't have a mac, so these are probably really stupid questions but... What virtualization software *is* available for a mac? I think "Parrallels Dekstop" is one, but is there another? Would anyone with a mac like to test booting the "raw" or some other disk image in it? |

VMware have been beta testing their VMware Fusion product since Dec-06/Jan-07. They have recently released beta 3 and whilst it is a beta product it is a really useful addition to Apple's Boot Camp and Parallel's Desktop for Mac. I have just installed the Gallery Appliance onto a MacBook Pro running Beta 3 and it ran straight out of the box. |

I use Parallels Desktop, and it works quite well, but I still prefer to run things in Mac OS X if I can. Dual boot is available for Intel bases Apple computers but won't be officially supported until the next major version release of Mac OS X. |
