GR 1.5 display corrupting

hello, i'm out of ideas so I come here for some help. the main screen for gallery becomes extremely corrupted as you use the program. you can kinda use it but after a few minutes of using it its too much to use

i've attached some screens of the progression. it gets MUCH worse after the 3rd one, i figure you'll get the jist of it though

so far i have completely removed all things java from my system and completely removed GR

i'm using GR 1.5

i reinstalled everything with the 1.5 + VM and the problem still exists

OS is windows xp sp2
