Would like to pay for "Search by Album Only" modification/module

I'm administering a gallery (2.1) which is approaching a million images. This is for a Sports Photography Site (sportingimages.com.au) which includes many albums which are extensively IPTC tagged. We have a dedicated server which is starting to groan under the load of people searching for their (tagged) images.

So we'd like to modify the search or produce a new search module which will allow searching of just the current album. My hope is that this will drastically reduce server load as rather than searching 750,000 images it will just look at a small subset.

There's a little more information on what I'm looking for in this thread. I haven't made much progress though, so I'd be happy to pay someone or donate a lump sum to the project to help develop this. I intend to release any module or customizations created to the gallery community, so others can work on and benefit from it.
