Hi there,
I am writing this questions after hours of search and bounced from links to links.

Here are my problems:
I have joomla site that I want to use the latest Gallery 2 ( released a few days ago actually)for my photo gallery. Now I checked out the gallery decumentation and its requirements.

1) I met all the requirments but the confusions is about installing image libary tools such as NetPBM. This tool comes with the Gallery2 and it gets activated automatically during the installation ( I say this because I saw it in the list of intalled graphics library tools) but why the installation requirement document says I have to install it first?
2)on my test site, I installed the Gallery in its own database and then installed the latest Gallery 2 Bridge component with no problem but when I went to Component->Gallery2 to configure the Gallery I don't see the "Configuration" in the menu choices. The choices are : Settings, user management, About and Help. Am I missing something?

3) For those of you who successfuly installed the gallery on Joomla site, what are the correct steps to:
- Install the gallery2
- Install the bridge and configure it so that the Galley can be integrated with joomla site?
-what basic modules and component do I need to get the gallery up and running?
I really need your help.
thank you in advance

1) please read:
http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Installing_Modules_With_External_Dependencies

the "netpbm" module of g2 is the glue code between gallery and the netpbm binaries. in case the netpbm module autodetects the netpbm binaries, the module activates automatically.
thus there's nothing to do for you.

2) no idea. that's joomla related. i'm moving this topic to the integration forums where a joomla user might be able to answer your question.
3) same.
