G1(v1.5.1-cvs-b30)->G2 (2.2-rc-1) description missing, mapping problems, truncation

My current install info is as follows:

G1 version:v1.5.1-cvs-b30

The size of the source G1 database is 30,000 photos.

I received errors indicating that the summary was truncated. What is even more frustrating is the fact that in G1, the dropdown box only lists a "Title" and "Description" and it is the G1 (description) field which I need. In the G2 import module there is NO option to map a G1 description to a G2 description.

I'm desparate for a fix.
