Newbie Questions for Joomla abilities?

I have read some comments but I'm a bit confused. Here's my goal: to allow users to create their own personalized galleries of pictures to share with a community Joomla site, but I'd like to integrate it into Community Builder, using it's membership restrictions. I can't quite tell if Gallery is the right product. I'd also like it, if possible to fit with the theme and layout of my site...
Or at least, NOT conflict with it.

Can anyone tell me if G2 is the right fit for this purpose?
