G2 needs too long Names, Paths and URLs

Look at the long names it needs in the URL for an original image: http://g2root.com/albumname/picturename.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1 whereas with G1 it was http://g1root.com/albumname/picturename?full=1 and in some cases even http://g1root.com/albumname/picturename Why all the extra crap? Who needs it? Get that out and I'll be using Gallery again. For now, I'll go with others. |

did you already file a feature request for that?
if something's not on http://gallery.menalto.com/sfvote, then we're not aware that something is a dire need of our users.
there are tons of things to work on. related to URLs, I'd say we need to do the following:
- we should add a short-url placeholder for g2_imageViewsIndex
- we plan to remove the prefix "g2_" by default. we have it to make g2 easier to integrate with other applications (wordpress, drupal, joomla, ...)
- we should give the user more control over the virtual filename "filename.jpg.html" vs "filename" and the like
