How to let people view the actual image source?

Hi all,

I administrate a PHPBB forum, and have added a Gallery 2.2 for my users. It's working great, people like it, but people also want to be able to embed images they've put in their gallery into threads within the forum. When you view the "source" of an image, it's showing something relative to the database, not the actual image itself. It needs to be the real image, ending in .jpg, .gif, etc, etc in order to work embedded in the forum. Is there any way to do this?
