Hello all,
i searched but couldn't find info on my question. [i]Is there a way to import only the album directory from G1 to G2 if G1 installation is on one site and G2 on another. Thank you in advance.
Sorry to jump in on this one but very similar problem, which I think sounds answered here...
I have just killed my G1 install. I hastily (and rather foolishly) deleted all traces of G1, thinking I would use the opportunity to go to G2. I backed up my Albums folder first.
So am I right, reading from above, that I can install G2 and then import all my g1 albums with only my G1 albums folder which I backed up?
Thanks in adavnce,
Jon

Hi Jon. That's correct. g2's g1 import module only ever looks inside your g1 albums dir.
Best of luck! Hopefully you'll be enjoying g2 in no time flat.
Thanks for the reply. Got it all sorted now. In the end I needed to reinstall G2 as the import option wasn't there amongst other things. Now that its all there I have to admit I seem to have still made things difficult for myself and ended up just arranging everything in folders on ftp then using the import from url option. Works well.

Sure, just copy your albums folder from the G1 server to the G2 server and import it with the G1 Migration module in G2.

I did that, but while down- and uploading via FTP some pics got lost...
Is there a way to compare G1 and G2 to figure out which pix are missing in G2?
