please, who will make a digest about GR and G2 compatibility

I am a french newbie.
I installed yesterday the last versions of G2 (2.2.2) + GR 1.5.
G2 is working fine (a bit slow) but I have to upload a lot of pictures, so I looked for a batch mode.
Found GR; It was looking great !!
But it doesn't work. I got the famous error 500. (and apache and php crashed).
So my question is :
Is there any workaround ? Did I miss a patch to fix the problem ?
If not, do you know if the fix is supposed to be available ?
Is there any other client software doing the same job (on XP) ?
I must say my need is very basic :
- the album exists
- the pictures are already formatted on my local machine.
My dream : a soft which takes as input a text file which specifies : album/~t/local filename inc path/~t/caption and GO!
