dhcp failure

hi , the gallery works great! thank you.

I am having trouble with dhcp.

when I first unzip the gallery file and run it with vmplayer from a vmplayer on my pc at home, all is good it grabs a dhcp address and others can see it from the internet fine, my problem is that once I close the gallery IE at root login I issue the halt command and then close vmplayer I come back in the morning or later and it will not grab an dhcp address, it say failed to get address for eth0 destination host unreachable.

so I had a play, if I delete the gallery vmx files unzip it again from the file I downloaded and open it again with vmplayer all is good again.

but I have to add all my photos again, its kinda a pain in the bum

any ideas?

topic moved to the "gallery appliance" forum.

so this is about the gallery appliance and not about gallery itself, right?

the appliance isn't really meant for fix installations. it should work, but it isn't primarily intended for that purpose.
why not install a real webserver / db server and gallery on your system if you're past the evaluation stage?
