When selecting a bunch of photos in an explorer window, I drag and drop them into the GR window - this works OK, but the order of the photos gets mixed up. Is there any way to stop this?
how messed up does the order get?
for me, they get put in alphabetical order, except the one that was selected last, it will appear at the top of the list.
I'm pretty sure this is just due to the way windows gives the list to GR and GR just adds in that order.

I just tried it with 5 files. They ended up in the GR window in order:
3-4-5-1-2
Weird!
Nick.
P.S. This is G1.3.4 and GR1.0.1 running on WinXp.

Joel is right, GR does nothing special to reorder the files from the order Windows uses. I almost always drag-and-drop from ACDSee, and I've never noticed reordering... I don't really know how to attack this. Any suggestions?

I'm using Windows Explorer, so maybe I should try using a different application that might not mix up the order. This would also prove the theory. What is ACDSee?
I also encounter this. My pictures get extremely messed up on uploading. I'm not only talking about when they finally go into the site.. I mean in the gallery remote window as well.
Also, when I click on a picture to move it to the correct order by pressing "move up" etc, a copy of the picture that I'm moving appears at the bottom of the list. Some crazy stuff happening.
When using the "add photos" option from the gallery itself and choosing a folder option. This works fine.

Drag and drop and reordering is fixed in the latest GR 1.3 beta. In 1.3 there is also a button that can alphabetically reorder the files in the window.

ACDSee is a great image browsing tool.
