I've done this migration before from G1 -> 2.2.2 with NO problems.
But I've just wiped out this installation and reinstalled a 2.2.4 version and am trying to import all photos from an intact g1 albums directory. ALL thumbs and ALL photos themselves end up being too small to see with any browser yet all of the photo files that are recreated in the new g2/g2data/albums directory seem to be OK and full size.. What gives?
Is there some parameter that I've failed to set or that I changed for this migration.
This also happens for all photos that are migrated using the g1 -> g2 migration routine as well as a few photos that I've just upload directly through my browser so I assume that it must be something simple and global?

1) In theory, the migration should create thumbs that match the size from G1. Was the "Thumbnail Generation" selected?
2) Check the g2 site admin for your graphics toolkits and verify that all of their tests pass correctly.
2) You can always reset the default thumbnail sizes at the root album settings in g2 and rebuild all the thumbnails from site admin --> maintenance. But again, the migration should be doing this properly.

Thanks - I checked all of those things and they were OK. This appears to be an issue with my webhost (Bluehost) because I've observed the following. I added another separate new installation of g2 on my site and transferred a single ablum from the g1 albums directory into the new installation without changing any of the other default settings that were established. Everything worked OK the first time this gallery was viewed and the thumbs and the photos displayed normally.
HOWEVER, after logging out of the new installation and logging back in to the bad installation of g2 then logging out again - none of the photos or thumbs that were OK previously are viewable anymore. They are clearly there and fine in the new installation and the page source code even has correct size parameters but the <img = ....> tags and the thumbs all appear too small in different browsers that I've tried on different computers.
It does not make any sense to me why this is happening other than something that my web host is doing with their server configuration that shouldn't be happening.
Any thoughts are appreciated

Since you have two g2 installations, presumably you're not sharing either the same database or g2data dirs between the good and bad?
Assuming that, perhaps you're willing to post links to the good and bad g2 sites?
