Moving from G1 to G2 on a different server PC

Hi

I had a read of the G1 to G2 migration sticky at http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:migration but am still left wondering about my pending migration which is a bit different.

I will be moving from a;

Gallery 1.5 install on a Win XP server on PC "A"

to

Gallery 2.x.x install on a Vista Server on PC "B"

What would be the best workflow for this?

Install G2 on PC "B" then import G1.5
Install G2 on PC "A" per the instructions at http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:migration then import to new G2 on PCM "B"

there are probably a few alternative ways to do this, any learned opinions would be appreciated. TIA.

Leave your G1 running on your old server -- that's the best way to ensure that you don't delete it by accident. Then, when you are sure that you have everything imported correctly, delete the old.
