Ok, I took the giant step of upgrading my G1 to G2 and have just begun to see some
issues yet I think that needs to be addressed; among them is this truncation problem.
After the migration, Captions from G1 have been truncated. In G2, there's no Caption
and so part of the Captions from G1 has been placed into Title and the rest, I don't
know since editing the Photo does not show.
I have about 7k+ images from G1 and may of them have Captions. If I delete the database,
recreate, and perform the migration again, is there a parameter I can change in the
database to take import the Captions correctly?
Any suggestion or advise is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info. It looks like it will do the job.
I've actually read briefly through that part of the documentation early
on...and never have second thought of it afterward since my Pre-Migration
Prep went so well without a hitch.
In fact, if this process of increasing the memories is such an important
aspect of the migration process, I think it should be highly emphasized
at the Pre-Migration Prep step...not placed all the way down at the bottom
of the installation as "Notes" where its information will be just a tad
too late to be useful.
Anyway, thanks for pointing me back to it. I'll give another try.
Thanks!

Ok, so I've deleted my database and started my imports again.
If I have the following G1 Album, how do I setup the options in Import Albums
so that it will migrate the Album Title, Caption, and Description correctly?
Album Title:
Marisa's Birthday
Caption:
Marisa is now 5 years old!
Description:
Pictures from Marisa's birthday party.
I have also increased memory size and restarted apache accordingly.
This is the part that's confusing to me and I would really appreciate any
help...
Thanks!

I give.
I was able to get the Description(G2) to import completely but I'm still having issues
with the Summary(Description in G1) getting truncated.
I changed the g_description type to varchar and gave it 1024 character space to
no avail.
I've ran out of ideas...I may get back to this again when I'm less frustrated...but
for now, I'll have to manually edit the Summary...
