I'm running Gallery Remote 1.1b12 (from the help/about box) under Windows.
I could have sworn that I saw something in the release notes about being able to rotate the pictures in G.R. before uploading them. I also did some searches on the web and I think the results described being able to right click on a picture in G.R. and selecting "rotate".
But I don't see that option anywhere in G.R. 1.1b12. Which is too bad, because without that feature, G.R. isn't really much more convenient to use than directly interfacing with Gallery itself.
Can this be done, or am I just expecting to see a feature that hasn't been implemented yet?

The rotate ability has been in GR 1.1 for the last few betas, but I was building the zip patches wrong, so it was missing. GR 1.1b13 should now have it.

Now THAT's what I call service! Thanks!
/me closes and restarts Gallery Remote to see if its check-for-updates feature finds beta 13...
Thanks again!!

Hehe, I just now updated the site that the check-for-update system checks...

Awwww, now that I've got it and unzipped it (and it seems as though I'm doing the right thing because it now says 1.1b13 in help/about), I still can't find an option to rotate the image.
Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong.
I start Gallery Remote, and log into my site. Note that I've used Gallery Remote to add files with captions to the site all day and it worked fine, so I at least know that part is working.
So the left-hand windowpane is blank, and I drag a JPG file onto that windowpane and it appears and lets me edit the caption in the righthand windowpane. I have buttons to move up, move down, and Delete on that screen. But no Rotate option. Nor does right-clicking on any part of the screen produce any options from which I can select. Nothing appears when I right-click.
What could I be doing wrong?

/me gets an idea that his JRE of 1.4.0_01 might be out of date, and looks into upgrading that...

OK, I know, another action is required: modify your Gallery Remote.lax file as suggested here.

Nailed it. Rotate works now. Interesting.
So why isn't the new LAX file included in the update?
I thought I did everything right when I installed Gallery Remote. I installed the main installer from the web site (1.0 something). Then, when I ran 1.0, its auto-updater told me to go get 1.1b12 which I did, and I unzipped the whole thing atop 1.0.
Is editing the LAX file something I was supposed to know how to do? Did I miss something in a readme?

I can't include the lax file in the zip patch because the lax is generated on the fly by the installer and is different for each machine.
So I should really give more detailed setup instructions for 1.1 patches, or better yet, release an installer-based version.
The only thing that happens if you don't change the lax is you don't get the icons, which is an annoyance (except for rotations, where the icons are necessary).

Ah, that makes sense, then. Maybe there's also a way to have the code check itself to see whether it's properly displaying the icons or not at runtime, and throw a warning up with instructions if that's the case.
