Add Folder to Gallery

On my webserver I have a folder called /2006 that has lots of my images. Is there an easy way to import those into Gallery 2 rather than have to re-upload the files to the server through the add picture feature in the control panel? Thanks!

You're on the right track, you want "add from folder on server."

I installed the "Add Items" plugin but when I use add items "From Local Server" it just moved the pictures into a folder and doesnt put them in the database. Any idea what I can do to get this to work?

Edit: It looks like I was just trying to many images at a time.

How exactly did you do it? I am trying to do the same here too, but with no success. I too have folders on the server with all my photos, but when I use "Add Items" it only gives me the option to browse locally; I see no where I can browse into my own site server.

I even copied them into folder/albums which I created through Gallery2, but I am lost as to how get them registered into the Gallery2 database.
