Hello all,
as I'm waiting for my ISP to change some settings on PHP so I can test drive Gallery 2.3 I need your input on what it can do for a project I have in mind.
What I need to set up for a friend is a system where the administrator:
- makes one separate gallery per group of users and each group shares one common password (multiple logins are a must)
- can add a paragraph of text next to the images (not a legend for each photo but a general text that applies for each gallery)
- there are no subcategories in each gallery, only one batch of photos
- only the administrator uploads/edits/deletes photos
the users:
- enter in a page that has a slideshow view and photo number one is already selected and in full size (the rest are in thumbnail format under the large size or on its side). This is crucial for me, I don't want the page with all available subgalleries in thumbs but since there will be only one batch of photos each gallery should start in the slideshow view.
- as they are using a common password there is a need for an extra field where each one writes their name prior to commenting on each photo
- can't add/edit/delete photos but can comment on them and send as e-cards to e-mails they provide (I'm not sure if I got that right but isn't there an addon that does that e-card sending?)
I have some questions about template design and Gallery's flexibility in layouts but they'll be solved when it's up and running I guess. Thanks in advance
