GD?

	I keep seeing "GD" in many of the posts here. Can anybody please tell me what it refers to?

	Gallery uses external code (not written by Gallery project) to take images and make thumbnails, resizes, watermark compositions. GD is just one such bit of external code, in this case provided as part of PHP. Better alternatives are ImageMagick or NetPBM. Unconfused?
