Is there a way to make main.php log in only?

I have gallery2 embedded into another cms (cmsms). I want viewers to view the site through cmsms, and just have gallery/main.php to display a log in (not showing albums) for users editing their albums. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Chris |

Just so I'm clear, you uwant the login link to show only on the root album?

If you use the cms login info you can remove the gallery login in the embed file:
$gallery->setConfig('login', false);

Actually, I want only the log in to show on main.php when a viewer is not logged in. I don't want albums to be accesable to (non-logged in) viewers through gallery2, general public needs to be limited to using the embedded version to view.
I can .htaccess password protect my gallery dir, but that means users have to sign in twice, for .htaccess, then log in to gallery. But I thought there might be an easier way.

Why not set permissions? No need for .htaccess.

I'm looking through the admin... is there a place to deny viewing permissions to non-members? I don't see it (g2 newbie - aggh!). Would that effect the embedded version.

Probably not even a close answer but I thought I'd try this commenting area out :::::: it seems if you are logged in you can click on that folder/album and make sure that the permissions are not public ie viewable to the public/common-surfer. If its(that folder/album) set public, well yes it shows right up at the login page, rather main.php
Which incidentally I've yet to tweak/edit the html of the darn thing.
THought it was a simple php or html that I could attack with Dreamweaver but nothing is ever simple it seems. Any word on simply making little custom changes to main.php? NO not talking about the colors or pretty font types. The css is a breeze but changing the structured layout and specifically the text I need help with.

1st thing you should do is uninstall Dreamweaver.
plain old notepad is more suited for php editing than that crapware.
